Robot toys are usually made of plastic and require batteries — but not this one! Inspired by the Japanese Shinto Kumi-ki puzzles, David Weeks's Cubebot is a non-traditional take on the toy robot that joins ancient Japanese traditions with contemporary toy culture. The Cubebot's sturdy hardwood frame can hold many poses and when playtime is over, he folds up neatly into an unassuming cube. Made of sustainably harvested Cherry wood. Measures 7 inches tall with 11-inch arm span (at play); 2½-inch cube (at rest).
