ART BY THE METER FOLDING RULER Non- Member Price : $25.00 Member Price : $22.50 This ingenious meter (or yard) stick provides a chronological overview of the history of painting in images. On one side of the folding ruler is a selection of beautifully reproduced full-color paintings from the past 2000 years. On the verso, artistic movements are detailed by epoch, from Roman funeral art and mosaics in the first centuries AD through the works of Islamic, Chinese and Mayan art into the Renaissance and on to the modern era. Details of eyes and hands are recurring motifs in the selections throughout the two millenia, while information about individual works gives the period and artist, title of the work, technique and the year of creation.
