SAGITTARIUS GLOBE Non- Member Price : $65.00 Member Price : $58.50 On instructions from Louis XIV of France, the Royal Cartographer Robert de Vaugondy created this enigmatic arrow-pierced globe. The effect is wonderfully ambiguous, bringing to mind Sagittarius the Archer, and Mars whose arrow and shield signify the male -- and Cupid. This hand-made reproduction has a lovely antique glow, and presents the world in 1745. Sagittarius Globe rests in a hand-cast iron stand, 12 hand-applied gores on core, with the classic sundial shape; dimensions 13½ inches tall over all, globe 7 inches in diameter. Item Number: GL040
