The world-renowned pair of marble lions that stand proudly before the majestic Beaux-Arts building of The New York Public Library at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street in Manhattan have captured the imagination and affection of New Yorkers and visitors from all over the world since the Library was dedicated on May 23, 1911. Named Patience and Fortitude by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia during the economic depression of the 1930's these iconic lions can now make their home in your library .

Hand-cast in a durable blend of marble powder and museum-quality resin, the Lion bookends stand 7 inches tall. The base measures 4 x 7 inches and features a non-skid pad to protect furniture.
